Making Movement a Priority in Castle Point

Active Essex is firmly embedded across the Castle Point system, working through a wide range of local forums and partnerships to champion physical activity and support healthier, more resilient communities. Our involvement spans the South East Essex Alliance Healthy Neighbourhoods Group, Castle Point & Rochford Health and Wellbeing Board and its subgroups (physical health, ageing well, community resilience and mental health), as well as the Canvey Island and Benfleet Integrated Neighbourhood Team Leadership Groups.

We play an active role within the Rochford & Castle Point Youth Worker Forum, the Castle Point Community Safety Partnership, and the Castle Point Place Partnership System Leads and Task & Finish Group. Active Essex also chairs the Castle Point Playing Pitch Strategy Group and the South East Essex Children’s Partnership Board, while contributing to the Positive Experiences for Children and Young People Working Group.

With a shared purpose of ‘enabling communities in Castle Point to achieve better physical and mental health outcomes, through physical activity’, the Place Partnership expansion opportunity in Castle Point has real potential to achieve positive outcomes for health, families, communities, and the local economy.
