Epping TKD

Taekwondo Martial Arts Club

The Epping Taekwondo Martial Arts Club accessed funding through the Find Your Active small grants programme to teach the art and the core values of TKD to ensure everyone can benefit from this activity.

The funding, powered by London Marathon Foundation, as a result of RideLondon-Essex 2022, enabled the club to purchase additional equipment to allow more participants to access the opportunity, as well as support to advertise the session to residents in Epping, and the local area.

Taekwondo is formed around five tenets; Courtesy, Integrity, Perseverance, Self-Control and Indomitable Spirit and these are taught weekly, within this community setting in Epping. Attendees range from as young as eight years old through to those within their 50's, all getting active together as well as learning, developing and enhancing key life skills taught through this particular martial art.

Accessing the funding was the best thing we could have done, it’s a constant battle to get enquiries and that costs money. For every 30 emails, I may only get 1 turn up, so the funding and extra resource this has brought has been invaluable.
