Youth Parkour

Parkour for young people

Active Essex supported a joint project between Braintree Youth Project Charity (BYPC) and Team Kinetix to provide weekly Parkour sessions for young people in the area, helping to build confidence, self-esteem and physical activity levels.

Braintree Youth Project Charity work with young people, creating a caring and safe community in which young people are respected, valued and offered opportunities. Many teenagers want to break away from traditional sports and Parkour has given them the opportunity to do something a little different.

BYPC teamed up with Team Kinetix (a professional Parkour, Freerunning and acrobatic team based in Witham) to create free weekly Parkour sessions for young people who would have otherwise not had an opportunity like this. The project has been such a success that they set up another 20-week series.

I like Parkour because I like to persevere and try to overcome challenges and beat my goals.
